Insulation is quoted by the square metre: ceilings, walls and floors. TrueScale measures ceiling and underfloor areas straight off the plan, and turns a wall run into a wall area the moment you give it a height, so you are not multiplying lengths by heights on a calculator.
What insulators mark up and measure
- Ceiling, underfloor and roof blanket areas, traced room by room.
- Wall areas: draw a run along the walls, set the wall height in Properties, and TrueScale gives the wall area (the run times its height). Change the height and the area follows.
- Wall heights you set in TrueScale on lengths and polylengths carry over to Revu's Wall Area column.
- Batts by the pack, as a count, when that is how you price.
- A batt pattern on wall runs, sized on paper or as a real thickness at the page scale, and labels for the product in each wall, such as its R-value.
The insulation tool set
TrueScale comes with a starter insulation tool set in the Tool Chest. Every tool is an example to start from: rename it, change its colour, symbol, spec and rate, or build your own set and share it with your team. Each tool fills in the Markups List (subject, spec and rate), ready to total and price.

- Price the totals in the Estimate panel, with waste and rounding to whole packs, or link them to your own Excel quote.
- Send the marked up plan with the quote, with the batts drawn in every wall you are insulating.
