Help

Help centre

The same help as F1 inside TrueScale: every menu and command with its keys, and the welcome tour.

Getting started

  1. Welcome to TrueScale

A few quick pages on what you'll use every day. Skip any time; it's always under Help > Welcome to TrueScale.

  2. Open your drawings

Ctrl+O, or drag PDFs onto the window. Use Sets to keep a job's sheets together.

  3. Set the scale first

Open Measurements (Alt+U). Calibrate: click two points a known distance apart and type the length. Or use Set Scale to pick the printed scale, like 1:100. Each page keeps its own scale, and a viewport can give a detail its own.

  4. Measure and mark up

Pick a tool from the right: Length, Area, Count, Polylength, clouds or text. Hold Shift to keep a line straight. Keep your favourite tools in the Tool Chest (Alt+X); keys 1 to 9 start your My Tools.

  5. Totals and pricing

The Markups List (Alt+L) adds up every subject on every page. The Estimate panel turns quantities into prices, ready for Excel or a quote PDF.

  6. Your units, help and support

Metric or imperial was set at the first start; change it in Preferences > General > Units. If something goes wrong, Help > Send Log Files gets us what we need to fix it.
